Object Description

This is part of a simple shaft loom that was made in the late eighteenth century in Southeastern Pennsylvania and used there for over two hundred years. This piece is a light board that joins the two heavy side frames at the top of the loom. A piece like this could be easily replaced, and, since this one uses different styles of decorative moulding than the rest of the loom, it likely was added later.
